Non-Surgical Nose Reshaping

If you are unsure about having a surgical procedure but are unhappy with the appearance of your nose, Non-surgical Nose Reshaping may be the right procedure for you. Non-surgical Nose Reshaping takes advantage of a recent trend in rhinoplasty to ‘rebuild’ rather than ‘remove’ tissues when reshaping the nose.

The procedure is ideal for people who are looking for subtle changes to the profile of the nose, without wanting to go under the knife. To create a permanent result, Mr Coombes performs a surgical Rhinoplasty procedure. You are in the right hands if you desire a natural change in your nose.

Mr Coombes has the highest reputation in surgeries involving the nose as he is known as the “nose expert” by his peers. Book a consultation to see which procedure you will benefit most from to reach your goals in enhancing your nose as well as your self-confidence.

Procedure

Non-surgical Nose Reshaping is a procedure that enhances the nasal appearance by skillfully applying a dermal filler, like Restylane, to the nose. For more aesthetically pleasing features, most patients find they don’t need a smaller nose; they need a smoother, stronger and more defined nasal bridge and/or tip. Non-surgical Nose Shaping can provide the facial balance most people seek.

During the procedure a series of injections are made to build up different parts of the nose. Typically, if there is a bump on the bridge of the nose some filler can be placed above and below the bump to either reduce or eliminate the appearance of the bump. Filler can also be used to improve the projection of the tip, giving the nose a slightly more upturned and feminine shape.

Recovery

The effects of the filler vary from person to person although most people typically need their first re-do about one year after the first treatment. There is significantly less discomfort and recovery time than with a surgical procedure. Non-surgical Nose Reshaping usually involves minimal bruising and swelling for the first 4 to 7 days.

Surgical Nose Reshaping – Rhinoplasty

Rhinoplasty surgery, nose reshaping surgery or a “nose job” aims to produce a nose that is harmonious with the rest of the facial features. Rhinoplasty may take many forms, in some cases it results in reduction in the size of the nose, involve correction of a twisted nose or a change in the nasal tip. In some cases, a Rhinoplasty is to augment specific areas of the nose commonly a “hump”or “bulbous tip,” or is required to improve ones’ breathing.

Mr Coombes considers the key to a natural looking nose reshaping is delicacy and subtlety, less is usually more when it comes to the nose. Rhinoplasty is an operation of finesse and millimeters that makes the difference between a natural looking result and one that has the trademarks of surgery.

Rhinoplasty is a complex surgical procedure and Mr Coombes has significant expertise in this area of facial surgery. Not only does he undertake many Rhinoplasty surgery for cosmetic reasons but he also reconstructs noses following trauma and due to ablative cancer surgery of the nose.

Mr Coombes has achieved a national reputation for rhinoplasty surgery and is known as the “nose expert” amongst his peers. He is commonly asked to revise rhinoplasty surgery undertaken by other surgeons and also gets referrals for primary rhinoplasty surgery from other plastic and cosmetic surgeons.

Procedure

Mr Coombes examines other facial features such as the shape of your face, your chin, and eyes in order to achieve harmony of your nose with these other facial features.

The majority of rhinoplasty procedures are undertaken via an open approach. This leaves a small barely visible scar in the columella (area of skin between the nostrils) but enables Mr Coombes to visualise the anatomy holistically and achieve a much more superior result. In fact, open tip Rhinoplasty is the contemporary technique adopted worldwide. A rhinoplasty is performed under a general anaesthetic and typically is performed between 2-3 hours.

Recovery

This procedure requires you to stay overnight under the good care of medical professionals at your preferred hospital. Rhinoplasty surgery is not particularly painful, although there may be some discomfort due to the swelling.

All patients will have a splint on their nose that is removed at the 7-day review appointment. Nasal packing is not required following rhinoplasty surgery with Mr Coombes. Sometimes there can be some bruising around the eyes and on the nose that can last for 7 – 10 days in addition to the nasal swelling.

The majority of the swelling of the nose takes between 2 – 6 weeks to subside, but more subtle changes can take up to 12-18 months to appear. This is why Mr Coombes provides support throughout the journey and reviews all his patients for up to 12 months minimum.
